StartNow Toolbar is a browser add-on which you can download from about.startnow.com or acquire it alongside free programs which are available on various websites. Start Now Toolbar is compatible with two browsers such as Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox, and it is said to be powered with Bing’s decision engine; however, when installing the toolbar downloaded from about.startnow.com, you will find that the toolbar is related to Yahoo search.
If you do not pay attention to the installation wizard, you will soon have the settings of the browsers changed. For example, the home page will be changed to startnow.com, whereas the search provider will become Yahoo. Uninstall StartNow Toolbar
Windows Vista/7
- Open the Start menu.
- Click on Uninstall a program under Programs.
- Select StartNow Toolbar and click on Uninstall.
Windows XP
- Open the Start menu.
- Select Add or Remove Program.
- Click on Startnow Toolbar and select the Remove button.
Remove StartNow Toolbar from your browsers
Mozilla Firefox
- Open the browser.
- Press and hold Ctrl, then press and hold down Shift and press A.
- In the Extensions section, remove StartNow Toolbar.
- Press Alt+T.
- Select Options.
- Under the General tab, change the home page and press OK.
- Open the drop-down menu next to the search box on the browser and select Manage Search Engines.
- Select a search engine and press OK.
Internet Explorer
- Open the browser.
- Press and hold down the Alt key and hit the T key.
- Select Manage Add-ons.
- In the Toolbars and Extensions section, disable StartNow Toolbar and StartNow Toolbar Helper. Note that after the uninstall operation the extension may not be present in this section.
- Click on Search Providers.
- Set a new search engine as default and remove Yahoo.
- Again press Alt+T.
- Select Internet Options and change the home page under the General tab.
