Soft Cores Removal Guide

Do you know what Soft Cores is?

Soft Cores is a miner Trojan that will slow down your computer to the point you will no longer be able to run most of your programs. It turns your computer into a working mule, and there is nothing in it for you. You have to remove Soft Cores from your system as soon as possible. While you are at it, do not forget to run a full system scan with a licensed antispyware tool because you can never know what other dangerous programs might be running on your PC. It is always better to be safe than sorry!

Now, why would we be saying that you need to check for other unwanted or dangerous apps? That is because of the way Soft Cores manages to enter your system. It does not come alone. As far as our research shows, the Trojan makes use of bundled downloads and other similar techniques. It “hops on” and takes a free ride from freeware apps that users regularly download from file-sharing websites. It means that you could avoid getting infected with such programs if you downloaded apps only from their official homepages. Please do not be so hasty to click that Download button just because you can download an app for free.

What’s more, unlike potentially unwanted programs, Soft Cores does not inform you about the installation. There is no additional notification when you go through the freeware setup, and nothing tells you that you have just added a Trojan to your system. Well, this is where the program stays true to its category. Also, it remains hidden for some time, so you will not even notice that there is something bad on-board, unless one of the programs you have installed together with this Trojan starts acting up. If that happens and you run a full system security scan, you are bound to find this mining Trojan on your PC.

And this is where we come to the main reason this infection enters your PC – mining. The program uses your system’s resources to mine cyber currency. The digital currency in question can be Bitcoin, Monero, or any other type that is often used to pay for cyber transactions. Of course, just because Soft Cores minds digital currency on your computer, it does not mean that you can use this currency. Everything that the Trojan manages to make goes back to its creators. After all, the program is bound to establish a connection over a remote server with its command and control center.

Aside from that, the longer this Trojan remains on your system, the more damage it will cause. The Soft Cores program will hog at least 70% of your CPU’s resources, and your graphics card will be affected, too. So if you are an avid gamer or you need a lot of operating memory for various programs that you use, you will soon see that your computer is very sluggish.

Can Soft Cores destroy your system? Not really. The program can only slow down your computer to the point it lags so bad you can no longer run any program. So rather than destroying your data, the Trojan can prevent you from accessing it. When you notice that your program windows start to minimize and maximize slowly, it is about time to scan your PC with the SpyHunter free scanner. You may find that Soft Cores is really there on your computer.

Is it possible to remove Soft Cores manually? Of course. You will find the manual removal instructions right below this description. However, manual removal might be daunting if you have never done that before. Also, it is very easy to overlook malicious files if you do not know what to look for.

Hence, after manual removal, you should scan your system with a security tool of your choice. Since Soft Cores comes in software bundles, you are bound to find more unwanted applications that need to be removed as well.

Finally, please consider staying away from unfamiliar websites that promote freeware because that is the straightest way to various computer problems. If you need more tips on computer security or how to avoid similar intruders, do not hesitate to contact us.
