  1. Press Windows+E keys.
  2. Enter %AppData%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\{Mozilla ID numer} in the address bar.
  3. Find and open prefs.js with Notepad.
  4. Modify the user_pref("browser.startup.homepage", ""); string by replacing the with your preferred search engine address.

Google Chrome

  1. Press Windows+E keys.
  2. In the address bar, enter %LocalAppData%\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default
  3. Find Preferences, Secure Preferences and Web Data.
  4. Delete them or open them with Notepad and replace all strings with to your preferred search engine address.
