My Email Signin Removal Guide

December 14, 2017 by Scott 0 Comments

Do you know what My Email Signin is?

My Email Signin is a piece of software promoted at the Chrome Web Store (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/my-email-signin/aclebadgjklemddbgcjaoggkedebfgah) and http://myemailsignin.com/. It enables users to access email service providers like Google, Hotmail, Outlook, and Yahoo with the single click, so some users find it quite beneficial. Unfortunately, not all people have a positive opinion about it. Specialists also do not consider this Polarity Technologies Ltd. product reputable software either. They have even classified it as a browser hijacker because it has been observed that it can infiltrate computers and change browsers’ (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, and Google Chrome) settings without permission. If you already see http://search.hmyemailsignin.com/ set as your homepage, New Tab URL, and default search provider, it means you have installed My Email Signin on your computer as well. If you are not happy about the changes it has applied to your browsers, you should remove it today. It is not a harmful malicious application, so its removal should not be very challenging. Internet Explorer users can erase it via Control Panel, whereas those using Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome need to erase it via the add-ons manager.

If you want to hear our opinion, we do not think that users should keep My Email Signin installed because the search tool (http://search.hmyemailsignin.com/) it promotes is not fully trustworthy. You will be forced to use it to perform web searches as long as you keep this piece of software installed on your system. Although this search provider returns Yahoo search results, it has been observed that some of them might be modified, so we cannot say that it is a perfect tool for performing web searches. These modified search results are definitely not malicious, but they might still cause problems because they might take users to dubious pages. Theoretically, they might promote all kinds of websites, even those containing untrustworthy applications. What is more, if you use the search tool set by My Email Signin, certain details about you might be recorded. Non-personally identifiable details it will record are these: the type of browser, the operating system type, geographic location, the domain name of the Internet Service Provider, etc. As it is stated in the Privacy Policy document, it might also record personally-identifiable information provided by the user voluntarily, for example, personal details used as search queries. If we do not convince you to remove My Email Signin together with the search tool it promotes, you should, at least, not enter anything personal in the search box because these details you provide will be recorded and might be shared with third parties together with other web searching-related non-personally identifiable information. My Email Signin Removal GuideMy Email Signin screenshot

My Email Signin is often classified as a browser hijacker because many users cannot remember willingly installing this piece of software and setting a new search tool on their browsers. Research conducted by our specialists has also confirmed that it might be distributed via bundled malicious installers. It is not the first and definitely not the last suspicious software traveling inside software “packages,” so you should be more cautious. It is not always that easy to notice these “additional offers” and cancel their installation, so our specialists recommend having security software enabled 24/7/365 as well.

You should not find the My Email Signin removal complicated at all because this piece of software is not one of those sophisticated threats. People using Internet Explorer could even erase it via Control Panel. It will be slightly harder to remove this extension if you use Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome because you will need to access the add-ons manager first to be able to do this, but we are sure you could erase it yourself manually if you follow our step-by-step manual removal instructions (you can find them below this article).

In non-techie terms:

My Email Signin is a piece of software that will change your browsers’ settings (homepage, search tool, and New Tab URL) if it is ever installed on your computer. The page it sets looks like an ordinary search tool at first glance, but it cannot be called a reputable search provider, so we recommend eliminating it and then setting another legitimate search engine in its place. The above-listed instructions will help you to delete the undesirable browser extension and undo the changes applied to your web browsers.
