High Unite is an application that should not be kept installed on the system. The reason why our security experts do not recommend doing that is really simple – High Unite is known to be an ad-supported program (adware). Such programs are mainly created in order to drive traffic to third-party web pages, so you should not expect much from High Unite even though it claims on its official website (highunite.com) that it will enhance your browsing experience by helping you to find the best information and deals. Unfortunately, High Unite will only show commercial ads for you. Believe us; all these ads are extremely annoying because they will keep appearing on your screen without your consent day after day. Luckily, this application will not install itself on Google Chrome; however, you will surely see all kinds of ads if you use Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer.

In order to be able to work properly on your system and show commercial advertisements on your screen, High Unite will apply changes on your computer. First of all, it has been observed that this program will create its main folder High Unite in %Program Files% (%Program Files (x86)%) and %Temp% directories. If you access the Registry Editor, you will find new CLSID keys added too: {3598B1EB-D5D3-44CC-AE5B-71ECC1A62FDB}, {F55FB39F-8D68-4E90-9C04-4D28BEB1BCC1}, {26e9cac2-6f76-4bbe-872b-ad8c15e5c327}. Furthermore, the following registry keys will be created:

  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\HighUnite
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HighUnite
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\High Unite
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\services\Service Mgr HighUnite
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\services\Update Mgr HighUnite
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\Service Mgr HighUnite
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\Update Mgr HighUnite

Specialists say that you will also see the High Unite extension added to the Mozilla Firefox browser. If you decide to remove this adware manually after reading through this article, you will have to delete the aforementioned registry keys, CLSID keys, and its main directories. In order to eliminate the Mozilla Firefox extension, you will also have to remove the firefox@www.HighUnite.com.xpi file.

You might, of course, wonder why you need to erase High Unite from your system. You can make High Unite disappear by removing it via Control Panel. If you have never tried erasing an adware program yourself, you can delete this threat automatically.
