DiskFixer Removal Guide

Do you know what DiskFixer is?

You might have been convinced that DiskFixer is a beneficial tool that can find and also delete the duplicates of your personal files. This is meant to clean up your disk and make space, but is the service useful? First of all, it is unlikely that you have duplicates of many files. Perhaps there are a few, but you should have no trouble eliminating them yourself. According to our research team, this program is just another PUP (potentially unwanted program), and so we recommend getting rid of it. If you feel ready to remove DiskFixer, check out the guide below. If you do not feel ready, continue reading to learn more about the extension, how it is distributed, and how it works within your Windows operating system.

The first thing that our research team realized when analyzing DiskFixer was that this PUP is identical to another PUP called ‘DiskPower.’ These applications not only work the same, but also look the same too. In fact, the creator has not put in too much effort into making them distinctive, and there are a few copy-paste blunders. For example, the “Info & Help” section within the interface of DiskFixer presents this information: “Disk Power is a windows software give you the possibility to find duplicated files in your computer. For more informations you can visit our website www.diskpower.biz.” It also does not look that the developer of the app has a full grasp on the English language, which is a warning sign that it is a poor-quality tool. Nonetheless, you could be tricked into downloading the PUP. Did you download it from diskfixer.net? If that is the case, how were you introduced to this source?DiskFixer Removal GuideDiskFixer screenshot

If you wanted to download DiskFixer specifically, perhaps you found the website yourself. However, it is also possible that you were redirected to the official download website with the help of misleading, exaggerated advertising. In a different scenario, you could have found the installer of the PUP attached to a software bundle. In the worst-case scenario, it could have been downloaded with malware. Hopefully, that is not something that has happened for you, but do not guess or assume. Install a trusted malware scanner instead, and it will let you know if you need to delete DiskFixer along with anything else. As for the PUP itself, we certainly recommend deleting it because we do not believe that it can be useful. Even the Chrome browser blocks the download website, citing it as dangerous, and so there is no doubt that trusting the app is not a good idea.

If you are interested in deleting DiskFixer manually, we have a guide that will assist you. Luckily, it is easy to get rid of this potentially unwanted program by uninstalling it. You might be familiar with the process already. Of course, if you are not, we suggest following the steps below. This might not be the best option if other threats exist on your operating system, in which case it is advised that you implement legitimate anti-malware software for full removal. While this software might seem most useful for its automated malware removal abilities, in fact, it is most useful for its ability to protect your operating system in all situations. Remember that if you do not implement trustworthy protection, your system will always be vulnerable.
