Do you know what My Flight Finder Tab is?
If you use Google Chrome as your main browser, you might be adding different extensions to assist you. My Flight Finder Tab could be one of them. This extension is meant to make it easy for you to find popular flights, check flight info, and also access popular websites. Of course, as you must know, judging a book by its cover is never a good idea. If you take a deeper look into the extension, you should realize that it is neither useful nor trustworthy, and these are the reasons we identify it as a potentially unwanted program (PUP). Our recommendation is that you delete My Flight Finder Tab, but you do not need to trust our recommendations blindly. Continue reading this report to understand how the PUP works, and if you end up agreeing that it is best to eliminate it, a removal guide is already posted below.
My Flight Finder Tab is quite similar to EasyCouponsAccess, EarthAndSatelliteMaps, QuickMapsAndDirections, and many other extensions. That might be because they were all created by the same company – Eightpoint Technologies Ltd. Of course, it is no coincidence that all of these extensions are classified as potentially unwanted programs (PUPs). The developer of these programs created them not to help users – at least not just to help them – but also to serve their own agenda. This appears to include gathering user information and promoting sponsored content via the search engine. Whether you end up downloading My Flight Finder Tab from flighttrackerupdate.com (or myflightfinder.net, which did not work at the time of research), the Chrome web store, or using some strange bundled downloader, it always hijacks the browser in the same way, and it always displays a search box in the center. My Flight Finder Tab screenshot

After installation of My Flight Finder Tab, whenever you open the browser, you are introduced to a search-engine-like interface. This interface is full of links to other websites. At the top, you are introduced to links to sites that are related to the alleged services of My Flight Finder Tab (e.g., expedia.com, booking.com, hotels.com, and flightaware.com). In the center of the page, you are introduced to a search box, and below it, you can find links to amazon.com, booking.com, and a few other less popular sites. If you choose to interact with the search engine, you are redirected to search.yahoo.com, but because the results are modified, we do not recommend trusting them. Note that the PUP collects data about you to make the sponsored links more appealing, but you must not let anyone scam you. All searches and clicks on easy-access links are redirected via hp.hmyflightfinder.net. Overall, the services are highly questionable, and so we advise deleting the PUP.
If you follow the steps shown in the guide below, you will have My Flight Finder Tab removed in no time, and data trackers will be cleared as well. As you can see, deleting the PUP is easy enough, but this is not the best option if you have other threats to worry about. If you are not 100% sure about whether or not other threats exist, you can install a free malware scanner that will determine that. If you learn that you need to delete a few other pieces, why not install a legitimate anti-malware program? It will automatically delete My Flight Finder Tab along with other threats, and you will not need to think about your system’s and browsers’ protection further on. Of course, just to be on the safe side, we suggest being selective about the extensions and programs you decide to install in the future.

In non-techie terms:
My Flight Finder Tab is an extension that, at first, might seem pretty great, but the more you use it, the more obvious it should become that it is useless. While it presents links to third-party sites that might offer useful flight-related information, it does not offer beneficial services. On the contrary, it is set up to spy on users and also expose them to potentially sponsored links and ads via the modified search engine. Without a doubt, we advise removing My Flight Finder Tab. You should use a legitimate malware scanner first. If the PUP is the only threat, feel free to use the manual removal guide above. If other threats exist, consider employing legitimate anti-malware software to have all threats eliminated automatically.
