PDFConverterHQ Toolbar Removal Guide

Do you know what PDFConverterHQ Toolbar is?

PDFConverterHQ Toolbar is an extension that is compatible with Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, and Internet Explorer browsers. The installation of this program heavily depends on which browser you choose to install it on. For example, if you install it onto Google Chrome, the extension will be represented via the New Tab, and this tool will be set to open on startup. What's more, the search provider associated with this toolbar is search.myway.com. Internet Explorer and Firefox browsers represent Ask Search, and, if you install the extension, chances are that you will find home.tb.ask.com set as your default homepage. Ask Search will change the homepage as well as the default search provider, and some users believe that this is done without permission. Do you think you need to delete PDFConverterHQ Toolbar because it is a hijacker? Well, you are not far from the truth. This toolbar hijacker is quite suspicious, and we advise removing it as soon as possible.

Every single Chrome extension has a unique ID that is composed of random letters. The ID associated with PDFConverterHQ Toolbar is iplaninjmgmgajaogojniphlojmebnod, and it also identifies the name of the folder under C:\Users\[your user name]\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Extensions. If you want to check the ID of the extension installed on your Chrome browser, all you need to do is go to the Extensions menu at chrome://extensions/ and view the list in “Developer mode.” You can also recognize the extension you are after by the modification date (if you know when the extension was installed). Although it is unlikely that you will have much use for the information within these files, you can delete them from this folder. Here is the list of directories that this toolbar creates.

Free.pdfconverterhq.com/index.jhtml is the website that Mindspark Interactive Network (the developer) has set up to introduce you to the toolbar. The IP of this website is located in New York, and it was registered by MARKMONITOR INC. It was found that other domains are hosted on the same server, including allin1convert.com/index.jhtml (Allin1Convert Toolbar) and bibletriviatime.com/index.jhtml (KnowTheBible Toolbar). Unfortunately, our research team has found that third-party sources could be used to distribute this program as well. PDFConverterHQ Toolbar communicates with pdfconverterhq.dl.tb.ask.com/mirrorCookies.jhtml and anx.mindspark.com servers. This communication might be used to download data and acquire updates. The cookies downloaded are found under C:\Users\[user]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\INetCookies or C:\Users\[user]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows. If you do not delete these cookies, information regarding your system, browsers, and virtual activity will be collected and shared with third-party partners. Mindspark is likely to sell this information to third-party advertisers whose ads might show up in the search results when using Ask Search and MyWay Search. This activity is another reason to delete this toolbar from your operating system and browsers.
