TelevisionAce Toolbar is meant to help you access your favorite TV shows using popular streaming services (e.g., Hulu or Xfinity). If you think about this statement, you really should not expect more than a few links to well-known video-streaming websites. Of course, some users do before they think, and they might be convinced that the tool will help them stream TV shows for free. That is absolutely not the case. Unfortunately, users are often careless when it comes to downloading software and using services too, which is why malware developers and schemers are thriving. The suspicious TelevisionAce Toolbar is officially represented at televisionace.com/index.jhtml. The installer works differently depending on which browser you use. For example, if you are downloading the tool via Firefox or Internet Explorer, you will be asked to change homepage or default search provider settings. If you are using Google Chrome, you will be introduced to the installer via a different source, chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/televisionace/nfllkgnbbkcijffoiekpodppbaaeofmj. This Chrome web store installer works the same, but it does not push to change homepage or search provider settings. Despite this, some researchers classify the toolbar as a hijacker because it forces search.myway.com upon users. We discuss this further in the report. Unfortunately, Chrome, Firefox, and IE users can also acquire TelevisionAce Toolbar via third-party installers that might be showcased via misleading pop-ups. Unfortunately, it takes the center stage, and most users are likely to employ it at one point or another. Of course, you can evade the search tool, but you have to think about other things as well. For example, are you okay with the PUP recording your virtual activity and sharing information with third-party advertisers who then can show sponsored content? If you do not want to be tracked, and you do not want to see ads everywhere you go, you might decide to delete TelevisionAce Toolbar.

- Launch Explorer by tapping Win+E keys.
- Enter %LOCALAPPDATA%\Google\Chrome\User Data\ into the bar at the top.
- Open the folder representing your Profile (if it does not exist, open the Default folder).
- Delete the folder named nfllkgnbbkcijffoiekpodppbaaeofmj in these sub-folders:
- Extensions
- Local Extension Settings
- Sync Extension Settings
Mozilla Firefox
- Launch Explorer by tapping Win+E keys.
- Enter %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ into the bar at the top.
- Open the folder named extensions.
- Delete the folder named TelevisionAce_hz.
- Now, open the folder representing your Profile (look for a folder with random characters).
- Delete the file named _hzMembers_@free.televisionace.com.
- Launch the browser and tap keys Alt+T.
- Select Options and, first, move to the General section.
- Overwrite the hijacker’s URL in Home Page.
- Navigate to the Search menu and Remove the undesirable search provider.
Internet Explorer
- Launch Explorer by tapping Win+E keys.
- Enter Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features into the bar at the top.
- Uninstall the program named TelevisionAce Internet Explorer Homepage and New Tab.
- Launch the browser and tap keys Alt+T.
- Select Internet options and then click the General tab.
- Overwrite the hijacker’s URL in Home Page and click OK.
- Tap Alt+T again and select Manage Add-ons.
- In the Search Providers menu Remove the unwanted provider. Click Clofse.

Although TelevisionAce Toolbar is not an incredibly malicious infection, it is classified as a potentially unwanted program that might change your browser’s settings just to introduce you to a search engine that does not have much to do with the original service that is offered. Speaking of this service, it simply helps find authentic video streamers, but, in a nutshell, it does not offer anything exclusive or highly beneficial. Overall, that is not the only thing to consider. If you are also unhappy about the PUP’s ability to spy on you and, moreover, share data with third parties that include unidentified advertisers, you definitely should remove TelevisionAce Toolbar without further hesitation.
