Qwest Toolbar is the name of a browser extension based on the Conduit toolbar building platform. The extension adds a toolbar to Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox. Some security experts may regard the Qwest toolbar as a browser hijacker because during the installation of the toolbar, the settings of the browsers can be changed. It happens only if you do no deselect particular check boxes, which are given at the beginning of the license agreement. It is crucial to pay close attention to the every process of software installation because you may not like the consequences.

We recommend that you remove the Qwest toolbar from your browsers because the toolbar adds little functionality to your browsers, not to mention the fact that it monitors your online behavior. The extension may record your clicks, search terms, browser settings, and other non-personally identifiable information. The same information may be collected by the search engine associated with the extension. The toolbar may provide you with irrelevant advertisements in new browser tabs, and those ads are likely to be related to unreliable websites.

By default, the Qwest toolbar provides you with an email notifier, a radio player, weather forecasts, and a link to Facebook. Usually, Conduit browser extensions enable computer users to customize their toolbars by adding new links, but bear in mind that you can add the same links to your browser bookmark toolbar.

If you pay no attention to the installation wizards, the Qwest extension replaces your home page and default search engine with trovi.com. This search engine is known to be promoted by the newest Conduit extensions.

As regards the removal of the Qwest toolbar, we recommend that you implement a reputable anti-malware program because after uninstalling the extension, some unreliable files may remain within the system. Moreover, your computer needs protection against Trojan horses, fake anti-virus programs, ransomware, browser hijackers, rootkits, and multiple other Internet-based threats. In order to browse the Internet safely, you should use SpyHunter, which a real-time anti-malware program that can easily protect you against the above mentioned malicious programs.
