PlayCenter Home is a Google Chrome extension promoted as a piece of software “for a quick games click-and-visit experience.” We are sure there are many computer users who play online games, so its popularity is rising. At the time of writing, there were 179 992 users who have installed this add-on directly from the Chrome Web Store (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/playcenter-home/kamdefopmcpnkpomihddfnelophmppej). Of course, not all users download it voluntarily. Some of them do not know anything about its installation on their computers. No matter how PlayCenter Home has been installed on the computer, we have bad news for you – it is known to be a potentially unwanted program (PUP). To put it differently, we do not call it malicious software, but it still has several features of a potentially unwanted program. It is not harmful software, but we still recommend that you remove it from your computer if you have found it useless or do not know why you have it installed on your computer.
If you install PlayCenter Home on your computer, we believe that a new extension on the list of Google Chrome add-ons is not the first thing you will notice. There is a more noticeable modification it makes – it changes the default homepage on this browser. It sets its own page that looks like an ordinary search provider. If you perform web searches with it, your all searches will be first redirected to http://play.eanswers.com/ before you see Yahoo! search results. As research has shown, these returned search results might be modified too. That is, they might simply promote third-party pages instead of taking users to websites that contain information linked to the search query entered. We do not say that PlayCenter Home or the homepage it has set on your browser are malicious, but you should still be very careful because, theoretically, these modified search results might open untrustworthy pages too. Luckily, PlayCenter Home does not make any other modifications, e.g. your default search tool and New Tab URL will not be changed after its installation.

As has already been mentioned in the first paragraph of this article, users can install PlayCenter Home on their browsers straight from the Chrome Web Store; however, it is, most probably, not the only source it can be downloaded from. According to our experienced specialists, it might be promoted by pop-ups too. Users might install PlayCenter Home on their PCs with the single click on such an advertisement. If this piece of software has appeared on your computer without your knowledge, you should delete it without mercy. Sadly, it is only one of thousands of potentially unwanted programs, so there is a possibility that you will discover new undesirable software on your computer again in the near future. Of course, it does not mean that you cannot prevent untrustworthy applications from entering your computer. - Open Google Chrome.
- Press Alt+F.
- Click More Tools.
- Click Extensions.
- Select PlayCenter Home and then click the recycle bin button.
- Click Remove in the confirmation window.

PlayCenter Home is a Google Chrome extension that targets users who play various games online. Unfortunately, we do not think that they will find this piece of software very useful. Also, they will see its homepage open automatically with every launch of their browsers because it sets it the second it is installed thus making the old homepage gone.
