Newpoptab.com Removal Guide

Do you know what Newpoptab.com is?

Newpoptab.com is a new browser hijacker that can redirect you to all kinds of potentially unreliable websites. Practically, you will never see this hijacker in your address bar because it always reroutes your browser to various pages. Unfortunately, these pages can introduce you to third-party advertisements that may not always be trustworthy. This simply means that clicking on them could be risky as you could be redirected to malicious websites or you may also drop infections onto your system. However, this is not the only issue with the presence of this browser hijacker. It could also indicate that there are other malicious programs on board as well. This could easily mean multiple virtual security threats. If you want to save yourself from unnecessary headaches, we advise you to remove Newpoptab.com from your affected browsers as soon as possible.

If you want to be able to protect your computer manually against similar malware infections, it is important that you understand how this browser hijacker may have slithered onto your system. Our tests and user reports show that the most likely way for you to install this threat is via free software packages. If you have installed a questionable bundle lately, it is possible that this infection was a part of that package. However, if so, this could be only one of several malware infections that may be endangering the normal operations of your system as you are reading these lines. You may not be aware but such a bundle can hold a number of malicious software installers that can land on your system if you install the package without deselecting the questionable and unwanted components if these are revealed at all during installation.

You can infect your computer with such a malicious package if you click on unreliable third-party ads. These ads could be banners or pop-ups generated by adware programs hiding on your system, but you may also be exposed to them if you visit suspicious websites. If there is an adware program on your computer, you are never really safe whenever you go online and browsing. Such an infection can spy on you and present to you relevant-looking commercials in order to lure you to malicious websites where you could be scammed or simply drop more infections onto your machine. If you want to avoid similar attacks, you need to be more careful about what kind of websites you visit and where you download free software from. Also, it pays not to click on random third-party ads if you are not sure whether there are adware programs on board or not. We recommend that you delete Newpoptab.com and run a system malware scan to be on the safe side.Newpoptab.com Removal GuideNewpoptab.com screenshot

This browser hijacker actually operates through this URL address: newpoptab.com/watch?key=60fd53c3a2cbae821bd2f3056f84047d. When this page loads in your browser it redirects right away to other websites, including mediawhirl.net, androido-mania.com, and mysagagame.com. These pages can change every time you restart your browser. The only thing they have in common is that they may display questionable third-party ads, such as banners and pop-ups that could lead to malicious websites on new tab pages or in new browser windows once you engage with them. But you might also download malicious programs just by clicking on them. Ending up on malicious or fake sites run by cyber criminals is always risky since you may not be able to identify the page as malicious. You may, for example, think that you are on a webshop site where you are about to buy a product you have been wanting to get and now you are offered for an “amazingly low price”; which is, of course, a trap. You could easily share your banking details or personally identifiable information with criminals through such channels. This could lead to losing your money from your account or to other online crimes committed by crooks using your details. We do not believe that you would want to go through any of this. This is why we say that you should remove Newpoptab.com right away.

The good news – probably the only one bit – about this browser hijacker is that it is really not complicated to eliminate it. All you need to do is restore or edit the home page setting. We have found that this infection mainly affects Google Chrome browsers, but we have prepared a guide for you that includes all popular browsers. If you do not want to put an end to this threat manually, we advise you to find a reliable anti-malware application that you can download from an official source and install it to automatically safeguard your PC against all existing malicious programs that emerge on the web. But even if you have an up-to-date security tool, it is always important to keep your drivers and programs updated if you want to prevent cyber criminals from easily gaining access to your computer and your files.
