Ezy Photo Tab is a Google Chrome extension that is meant to help you “Edit photos & videos, create logos or collages, get editing tips & more, from quick links on your new tab along with web search.” Do not be mistaken, this extension does not have integrated editing or creation tools. Instead, it uses its interface – which is represented using ezyphototab.com/newtab/v1/fmdskk.html? via the New Tab page – to show easy-access links to websites that offer editing and creation tools. This is one of the reasons why this seemingly harmless extension is identified as a PUP (potentially unwanted program). When Ezy Photo Tab changes the New Tab to ezyphototab.com/newtab/v1/fmdskk.html?, it presents easy-access links to befunky.com, clippingmagic.com, kapwing.com/collage, logomakr.com, renderforest.com, isorepublic.com, biggamesnetwork.com, youtube.com, facebook.com, and several other websites. If you visit these websites, you should be able to edit photos and videos, but Ezy Photo Tab does not provide you with exclusive access to these sites. The PUP merely offers a collection of easy-access links, and you can create your own collection by bookmarking the same websites. You also should not use the search tool created by the PUP because it redirects to Yahoo Search. If you want to, you can use search.yahoo.com as your homepage, new tab page, or default search provider, but you must not use a third-party search engine to access it. The PUP redirects you to Yahoo Search not so that it could show modified results. These are likely to include advertisements that the PUP is paid for.
