Do you know what EnyBenied Ransomware is?
EnyBenied Ransomware is a rather regular ransomware infection that attacks computer systems for financial reasons. It wants the infected users to transfer ransom fees for the decryption key that should unlocked the affected files. However, there is no guarantee that the people behind this infection would issue the key the moment you transfer the fee. Right now, your main objective is to remove EnyBenied Ransomware from your system as soon as possible. Please scroll down to the bottom of this description for the manual removal instructions, although bear in mind that removing this program is not enough to mitigate the damage.
Any computer security specialist would tell you that the easiest way to protect yourself from a ransomware infection is to avoid it. But here you might say that it is easy for us to tell when we know a little bit more about them. The truth is that anyone can protect themselves from a ransomware infection, as long as they recognize the main distribution patterns.
EnyBenied Ransomware can enter your system anytime, but it requires your permission to do so. In other words, ransomware programs do not use backdoors (or malicious infections that entered a target system previously) to slither into target computers. The most common ransomware distribution method is spam or phishing emails. These emails come with attached files that, once opened, unleash EnyBenied Ransomware and other similar infections upon the target system.EnyBenied Ransomware screenshot

How can we stop ourselves from opening these files? Well, we have to be better at recognizing potentially unwanted email messages. While most of the spam emails get filtered into the Junk folder, quite a few may land into the main inbox, too. It is actually quite simple: If the message is unexpected and extremely urgent, if it tries to make you act or riles you up, that is the first sign that something is not right. Do not hesitate to double-check with the sender about the message before you open the attached file. You can also scan the file with a security tool of your choice. If the file is safe, you can open it immediately.
However, what happens if users do end up getting infected with EnyBenied Ransomware? Well, this program functions just like most of the ransomware infections out there. Judging from what we have, the program encrypts files right when it enters the target system. The encrypted files get a new extension. For example, if before encryption your filename was dog.jpeg, then afterwards, it will be dog.jpeg.EnyBenied. Needless to say, you do not really need the additional extension to see that something has happened to your files. The system will not be able to read your files anymore.
This program doesn’t encrypt files in the Windows, Program Files, and Program Files (x86) directories. It is not too surprising because ransomware programs still need your computer to function properly, so that you could transfer the ransom fee.
EnyBenied Ransomware will also display a ransom note that will try to scare users into paying the money for the decryption key. Here’s what the ransom note has to say:
Great! You a member #Enybeny community, and all files have been encrypted!
Encryption – reversible modification,
created for protect all your files
You can buy decryptor – price 0.00000001 BTC
As you can see, the ransom amount is ridiculously low, but there is no reason to pay because the possibility that these people would give you the decryption key is really low. In fact, it is very likely that the program’s server is down already, and the criminals cannot even issue the decryption key anymore.
Thus, just as we have mentioned in the beginning, you just need to remove EnyBenied Ransomware from your system, and then protect your computer from similar intruders. As far as your files are concerned, you can restore them from an external backup (provided you have one). Some of your latest files should also be available on your mobile device. Please explore all your options before you decide to start your file collection from scratch again.
