MyTelevisionHQ Toolbar Removal Guide

Do you know what MyTelevisionHQ Toolbar is?

MyTelevisionHQ Toolbar is a piece of software that can be downloaded from free.mytelevisionhq.com. Of course, it might find other ways to enter systems too; however, there is no doubt that you have this browser plugin installed if you see a toolbar with such icons as Watch Sports, Watch Movies, Favorite Shows, and Watch TV. There are three versions of this toolbar for Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox. Many users find this toolbar useful because it allows users to access such popular web pages as Hulu, YouTube, and Netflix. In addition to this, it will provide you with a list of video streaming web pages. Researchers have noticed that the publisher of MyTelevisionHQ Toolbar, which is Mindspark Interactive Network, Inc., has not collected this information itself. It seems that the toolbar itself is based on the ak.wdata.televisionfanatic.com. It gets the most important information from there and even its Watch TV element is based on it. Despite its decent-looking appearance, many users still find the presence of MyTelevisionHQ Toolbar rather irritating. In addition, some users complain that this toolbar is completely useless. If you have a negative opinion about MyTelevisionHQ Toolbar as well, delete it from the system right now. It is advisable to do that also if it has slithered onto your computer without permission.

After MyTelevisionHQ Toolbar is installed on the system, it immediately changes homepages and search engines to ask.com. It seems that users agree with the changes themselves by not unchecking the Make Ask.com my homepage & new tab and Make Ask.com my default search engine checkboxes. Ask.com is a legitimate search engine; however, it has been observed that it will present users with third-party and links when it is set by MyTelevisionHQ Toolbar. MyTelevisionHQ Toolbar is a suspicious piece of software also because it might record details about users’ activities on the web. It might share the information with third-party partners too. In fact, this is not surprising for us at all that this browser plugin acts like that because it is closely associated with DictionaryBoss, TotalComicBooks, and Undeaddies toolbars, which are also developed by Mindspark Interactive Network, LLC. If you wonder how we know that these toolbars are related, you should know that they use the same web server (IP 74.113.233.180).MyTelevisionHQ Toolbar Removal GuideMyTelevisionHQ Toolbar screenshot

MyTelevisionHQ Toolbar is also very similar to previously published Mindspark Interactive Network, Inc. toolbars in a sense that it enters systems unnoticed in most cases even though it has an official website. Of course, users are the ones who initiate the installation of MyTelevisionHQ Toolbar; they are very careless on the web and tend not to read the information provided for them. Our security specialists say that MyTelevisionHQ Toolbar not only comes bundled with other applications that can be downloaded from third-party web pages, but can also enter the system after a user clicks on an advertisement offering to install a very useful browser plugin. Such ads are mainly visible on torrent, file-sharing, and other web pages where users can download software from, e.g. Softonic.com.

After MyTelevisionHQ Toolbar is installed on the system, it applies many changes to the system registry. In fact, other undesirable programs might touch the same registries too. Therefore, if you want to double-check that you have really encountered MyTelevisionHQ Toolbar, you should go to C:\Program Files (x86)\MyTelevisionHQ_ft and try to find the following files: TPIManagerConsole.exe, Verify.dll, fthighin.exe, AppIntegrator.exe, assist.exe, and arbiter.dll. Are they present in the aforementioned directory? If so, it means that MyTelevisionHQ Toolbar is installed. Unfortunately, it will not be so easy to get rid of it because it makes many changes, cannot be fully erased via Control Panel, and it also leaves a bunch of leftovers. They will occupy some space on your PC, and you will have to take care of them too if you want to have a clean computer.

After you delete MyTelevisionHQ (the quickest way to do that is to reset browsers and erase it via Control Panel), you have to take care of its leftovers as well. Instructions provided below will help you with that.

If you do not want to delete these leftovers or MyTelevisionHQ Toolbar yourself, scan your system with a reputable security tool, such as SpyHunter. It will do this work for you.

In non-techie terms:

It is not so easy to protect the system from various unreliable applications; however, in our opinion, it is still possible to do that. We doubt that an ordinary user can protect the system himself/herself, so we highly recommend installing a reputable security tool on the system and always keeping it enabled.
