  1. Access the Metro UI menu by tapping the Windows key.
  2. Locate the Power button at the Settings charm and click on it.
  3. Press and hold the Shift key and then click Restart.
  4. Go to Troubleshoot and select Advanced options.
  5. Click Startup Settings and click Restart button again.
  6. Tap F5 on your keyboard.
  7. When your Windows loads up, download the security tool.
  8. Install it and scan your system.

Windows 10

  1. Open the Start menu and click the Power button.
  2. Press and hold the Shift key and then click Restart.
  3. Select Troubleshoot and then click Advanced options.
  4. Click Startup Settings.
