I have been testing Uncheckit and it actually does work. I have tested it by launching the installers fo Auslogics Driver Update, and TweakBit Driver Update. In both cases when I launched the installer, Uncheckit kicked in and set the install type to custom, and unchecked the install of unwanted extra software. So, it is does work as advertised.

I'm sure that Unchecky - which you mentioned, is a better choice, because it is well known and trusted and comes from a reputable publisher. On the other hand Uncheckit allegedly includes adware (although so far, I haven't seen any evidence of this), so I don't recommend using it.
