I received the exact same error message as you described and couldn't get rid of the annoying "System Error" message. I installed Trend Micro and SpySweeper and they couldn't find the infected files. I even dowmloaded critical updates from Microsoft, including their Malware Sweeper annnnnd NOTHING. I followed your instructions for the "Automatic Removal" and downloading the SmitfraudFix and that was that...DONE. No more annoying errors. Thank again
