Yes, your icons will look larger than normal, it'll revert back to normanl when done.
While your in Safe Mode, you might as well run your anti virus software as well (each one separately, of course).
After you restart and go back to your normal operating enviroment? Run them all again, just to be safe.

There are still other options, if theses do not satisfy, however, the kids have homework to do and I cannot elaborate at this time.
Best of success on deleting this malicious software, I'll try to post back again.

I have found myriad websites that purport to have manual fixes but the registry names never fix what is there. Right now I am on chrome and I seem to have temporary disabiled it but it is very scary.
